Household garbage
Every 14 days, the garbage truck comes to your household to empty your bin. In Arvidsjaur municipality we have a barrel (green) and you can choose between these different sizes:
80L, 190L, 360L and 660L.

How should the bin be placed?
Bins must be placed directly adjacent to the pavement (in winter 1.0 m behind the pavement) next to the collection route no later than 05.00 on the collection day. If there is no pavement, the bin is placed in a suitable place 1.0 m from the roadside. The bin must be free-standing, fully visible and the lid opening facing the road. This measure ensures that the bin is emptied.
Exceptions to the above paragraph are made for disabled persons on presentation of a medical certificate. The waste collector then collects the bin according to instructions from the municipality. Garbage collection from apartment buildings and businesses takes place from a central outdoor location adjacent to the route of the garbage truck.
The owner of the property must ensure that the road leading to the collection point is kept in a passable condition. The collection route must be cleared of snow and kept slip-free. Private roads and land used for collection must be dimensioned and maintained in such a condition that they are passable for collection vehicles.
Recycling center
If you need to dispose of anything other than household waste or other larger trash, there is an ÅVC just outside Glommersträsk. You can take combustibles, metals, electronics and much more here. However, if you have, for example, paint or impregnated wood, you need to leave this at ÅVC in Arvidsjaur.
ÅVC in Glommersbygden is open every Monday between 14.00-19.00

Recycling station
If you need to dispose of metal, glass, light bulbs, batteries, paper and hard plastic as well as recycled paper, you will find a recycling station on Ängsvägen in Glommersträsk, next to the ice rink.
Recycling carts
For those of you who live in the small villages outside Glommersträsk, there are so-called recycling carts that run around on a rolling schedule so that you can leave your packaging, glass and even batteries. Click on the bin to get to the trolley schedule for each village.
