Activities for old and young

What activities can you do in Glommersbygen? Here we list some of the activities available in the village.

Activities for children

Ice skating

In winter, the ice rink is open during the days so that anyone can skate or play hockey whenever they want to. The ice is ready to use and very soon there will be ice skates available for renting to.

In the ice rink building we also have a "fritidsbank" where you can borrow ice-skates and helmets if needed.

Football/soccer

In Glommersträsk, football is practiced once a week, every Tuesday between 18-19.30. There are opportunities for both young and older children to participate and the training sessions are organized according to the children's age for each training.

Youth evenings

Every Sunday evening at 18:00, Glommers free church organizes youth evenings at the old cinema in the village (Storgatan 74). There you can play billiards, air hockey, table tennis etc. Some sweet "fika" is provided and there are always adults present. Age limit from 7 years.

GLIF:are

On Thursday's there are playing and activities in the sports hall for mini-GLIF's 1-7 years old and middle-GLIF's from 7 years and up.

MINI: 18.00-19.00

MIDDLE: 19.20-20.30

Other activities

Weaving

In Glommersträsk you will find the possibilities to be a little creative with your hands in form of weaving. Here you can make rugs, blankets, tablecloths and at the same time take the opportunity to meet once a week and have fellowship together.

Floorball

Every Friday at 19.00 there is floor ball in the sports hall, here you can come and play for fun. There isn't any team but playing for fun. Very welcome if you're interested

Indoor curling

For those who are interested in playing indoor curling, a group of enthusiasts meet every Monday at 18.00 in the sports hall.

Disc-golf

In Utterliden you will find a disc golf course with 9 holes, bring your disks and try a few holes, a perfect activity for the whole family.

Shooting range

If you are interested in hunting or shooting, there is a shooting range in the Glommers area available. more info coming soon.

Driving snowmobile

For those who enjoy snowmobiling, Glommersbygden is a perfect place to do just that. We have plenty of snow in the winter and there are well-maintained trails.

What else could you do in Glommersbygden?

Fritidsbank

Inside the ice-rink building you have access to our "fritidsbank", here you can find skiis, ice-skates, helmets and other fun things you could use during winter and summer activities.

Fishing

There are many fishing opportunities in Glommersbygden, and we will soon be listing various fishing spots and also where you can buy fishing licenses for these. If you are unsure where you need a fishing license? Contact us and we will help you!

Take a walk

If you want to take a walk up Glommersberget (the mountain), there is a gravel road from Svedjevägen (follow the sign) that you can follow if you do not want to follow the hiking trail that starts at the old homestead area.

Skiing

In the village there is an electric light trail that is 2.4km long. Those who ride can turn on the lights themselves via a timer. The electric light trail starts at the ice rink.

Disc-golf

Except from the court in Utterliden you can, in summertime also find two baskets for discs on the field next to the outdoor pool.
