Magical nature experiences in Glommersbygden
Imagine not having to go so far to experience something perhaps completely new or just simply magical. Here in Glommersträsk and the surrounding area you can really find the best of all worlds, in the middle of silence, far away from the noise where nature can speak for itself. If you want to experience the magical nature of Norrland, you have come to the right place.
Northern Lights (Aurora)
If you visit Glommersbygden during the winter months, there is a high probability that you will see the Northern Lights. Of course, this can be a bit dependent on how the weather and wind including solar winds look like but the chance is great. Follow the apps that report or join the Facebook group -Northern Lights and you can update yourself on whether the chances are high or not to see this amazing phenomenon. Also, choose a location away from different light sources to see it even more clearly.
Vithatten (mountain)
If you want to hike up the Vithattent, you can expect stunning views that stretch as far as the eye can see. You'll have to start by driving a car for a bit, and then end up on a footpath up to the top. The very last bit you have to walk on rocks to get all the way up, but so worth the view once you're there! In the directions that we link below, you start from Glommersträsk shop: Finnbergs, so if you have forgotten coffee, you can take the opportunity to recharge before you drive away.
The bird tower
In Glommersträsk you can find this bird tower where in spring there are many birds that you can watch. The swamp does not keep a high water level throughout the summer so if you want to watch while there is a lot of water, spring is the right time. Of course, you can see birds throughout the summer as well, or you can bring some coffee and enjoy the view for a while.

Glommers-mountain
Enjoy a beautiful sunset or spend a whole evening grilling and having a good time up on Glommersberget, known as “the top”. The barbecue area and baked goods are the responsibility of Glommers village council and if you go even higher up the mountain you will find a nice viewpoint over Glommersträsk, the white cap and much more. You will find the way up to the top via Smedjevägen, follow the signs.
Lappland Nature Dreams
You can experience dog sledding, nature and perhaps the northern lights if you book a visit to Lapland Nature Dreams in Moräng. You can also book a photography adventure if you want to combine your stay with your photography. Accommodation is also available through them so you can stay in Glommersbygden for a little extra time if you happen to be enjoying a bit too much.
Horses of Taiga
If you have always dreamed of riding Icelandic horses, this is the opportunity for you! Horses of Taiga is located about 40 minutes from Glommersträsk and offers both shorter tours for the whole family or longer tours for a real adventure. They are available both summer and winter.
Nature and Culture Trail
In Gallejaur, you can visit the newly opened nature and culture trail, which is 1.4 km long and takes you on a journey through the history of nature. You will find a small clearing with a sound bench where you can sit and take a little break with coffee or just enjoy the view of Lake Gallejaur. A perfect excursion for both young and old with historical elements.
